Results
- Cartons per pallet
- 72 cartons
- Best orientation
- Upright (height up)
- Cartons per layer
- 9 cartons
- Layers
- 8 layers
- Cargo weight
- 648 kg
Formula
For each orientation: per layer = max(⌊L÷a⌋×⌊W÷b⌋, ⌊L÷b⌋×⌊W÷a⌋)
Layers = ⌊(max height − pallet height) ÷ carton height⌋
Cartons = min(per layer × layers, ⌊max kg ÷ carton kg⌋)
Assumptions & limits
- Column (block) stacking with one orientation per pallet; interlocked or mixed patterns may fit more.
- Compare with the Cartons per Pallet calculator for upright-only loads.
Worked example
Upright: 3 × 3 = 9 per layer × 8 layers = 72; on side: 3 × 4 = 12 × 6 = 72; limited by weight to ⌊1000 ÷ 9⌋ = 111 → 72 upright.
