Formula
Gain = (end − start weight) × animals
FCR = Feed ÷ Gain
Assumptions & limits
- Uses surviving animals; for mortality-adjusted FCR add the weight of dead animals to the gain.
Worked example
Gain = 2.46 × 1000 = 2,460 kg; FCR = 4,100 ÷ 2,460 = 1.667.
