⚠ Simple column-stack grid only. Stability, interlocking patterns, overhang, carton compression strength and handling labels are not checked — verify before loading.
Formula
Per layer (lengthwise) = ⌊Pallet L ÷ Carton L⌋ × ⌊Pallet W ÷ Carton W⌋
Per layer (rotated) = ⌊Pallet L ÷ Carton W⌋ × ⌊Pallet W ÷ Carton L⌋
Layers = ⌊(Max height − Pallet height) ÷ Carton height⌋
Cartons = min(Per layer × Layers, ⌊Max cargo weight ÷ Carton weight⌋)
Assumptions & limits
- Cartons stay upright (height is vertical) and every layer uses the same orientation.
- No overhang and no mixed or pinwheel patterns — those can fit more; this is a conservative grid estimate.
- This does not confirm that a load is safe, stable or accepted by your carrier or warehouse.
Worked example
Lengthwise: 3 × 2 = 6 per layer; rotated: 4 × 2 = 8 per layer → 8 chosen.
Layers: ⌊(1800 − 144) ÷ 250⌋ = 6. By geometry 48; by weight ⌊1000 ÷ 12⌋ = 83 → 48 cartons, 576 kg.
